The Dive Sites
RED CROSS REEF
Boat Dive - Reef and Wall - 7m to 35m
A shallow lava rock reef, starting at 7m and flowing down to a nice drop-off at 21m. The wall then descends down to 35m.
Must see: Large tree coral and drop-off.
RITCHIE'S PLACE
Boat Dive - Mainly Wall with some Patch Reef - 15m to 40m
An impressive overhanging wall with a cavern running the entire length of the wall. There is a nice swim-through towards the end of the dive.
Must see: Overhang and swim-through.
ANEMONE WALL
Boat Dive - Wall - 10m to 35m
The largest wall/drop-off that we dive - the wall is 25m in height in some places! A massive amount of different species of anemones can be found along this wall.
Must see: The wall itself and yellow encrusting anemones hanging from the reef.
THE MUSHROOMS
Boat Dive - Wall - 16m to 40m
A big wall dive with mushroom shaped lava rock formations. The actual reef appears to be made up from fused hexagonal lava pillars.
Must see: Mushroom rocks and interesting rock formations.
THE CATHEDRAL
Shoredive - Wall and Reef - 10m to 35m
Mainly a wall dive leading to a very large cavern measuring nearly 15m in height and 20m in width at the entrance. The dive ends around the shallow arms of Playa Chica.
Must see: The large Groupers and the view looking out from the Cathedral into the blue water.
PLAYA CHICA
Shoredive - Reef - 0m to 14m
This is a natural horseshoe shaped bay with some patch reef and is an ideal site for beginners and training. It is also a beautiful area to decompress after some of the deeper dives.
Must see: The small cave on the west side of the bay in about 5m depth.
RED CORAL
Shoredive - Wall and Reef - 10m to 40m
Mainly a wall dive with lots of 'nooks and crannies' to explore. A few pieces of red tree coral can be found along the wall.
There is a small wreck sitting in about 23m of water to mark the start of the reef.
Must see: Sea hares, nudibranchs, seahorses and Felix.
CUEVA DE LAS GAMBAS (Shrimp Cave)
Shoredive - 20m to 45m
A deep cave/cavern normally full of shrimps. The mouth of the cavern is in about 37m of water, so only those divers with adequate experience will be taken here.
After the cavern we follow the wall towards the Red Coral dive site.
Must see: The large Groupers using our lamps as a shrimp finding light!!
THE BLUE HOLE
Shoredive - 10m to 40m
Mainly a wall dive with a great swim-through (the Blue Hole).
There are 2 small caverns further along the wall , and a 'mini pinnacle' away from the main reef. There is a good chance of finding seahorses on the way back.
Must see: The Blue Hole!!
LOS JURELLES
Shoredive - 10m to 22m
A nice reef dive where we follow fingers of lava rock to a sandy area where we have a good chance of spotting Stingrays, Barracuda, Trumpet Fish and Seahorses.
Look out for Jacks darting in from the deep water to snatch smaller fish.
Must see: Jacks or Barracudas.
THE HARBOUR WRECKS
Boat Dive - 12m to 40m
A group of purposely sunk wrecks, 1976, starting in about 12m depth, with the deepest being at 40m.
An interesting dive due to the fact that the wrecks are very well positioned along a wall and has something for everybody.
Must see: The view of a 40m long wreck balanced along the edge of the wall.
PUNTA TIÑOSA
Boat Dive - 5m to 40m
A real 'layer cake' of a dive. Semi-circular lava ridges make up this dive site.
The lava has created a tiered effect, progressively dropping deeper with each layer. There is a broken up wreck as a marker for the deepest layer.
Must see: Lava layers and lava peaks.
THE TRIPLE WRECKS
Boat Dive - 10m to 35m
3 Purposely sunk fishing boats sitting on flat sand. They vary in length from 20m to 35m and lie some 20m distance away from each other.
Must see: The shape of the wrecks looming up out of the blue water as we swim across the sand - and the nudists sunbathing on the rocks at the base of the cliffs as we surface!!
EL PORIL
Shoredive 5 - 30 m
A divesite, only 2 minutes from our dive centre, with lots of fish life. It`s possible to dive there together with your buddy whenever you want on your own.
Hotspot: El Poril at night
